ज्ञान शिखा (Gyan Shikha)

The Gyan Shikha program has been designed keeping in mind the girls who drop out schooling after 5th standard. Our organization conducted a detailed survey of the rural areas of Khagaria district of Bihar, the purpose of the survey was to know the level of education of girls and to be aware of the main problems faced by them in their studies. We eager to know specifically that what is the reason why girls do not continue her study after primary education. The result of the survey we conducted was quite disturbing. The main reason for girls dropping out was their own safety and shame. As you all are aware, when the girl child crosses the age of 10 years, changes begin to occur in her physical body and other things, due to which she feels difficulty and shame in the society, especially in coming to school.
